There is a place in South America called the Atacama Desert that is called the "driest place on Earth." Only 15 milliliters of rain have fallen in the past 30 years! Spending time in the desert can quickly lead to dehydration and living in this area requires relying on outsiders to bring in water. As we travel through our lives, we need to be sure that our spiritual journeys do not become dry!
In our journeys, we can experience times when we drift away from God and His calling in our lives. "Dryness" in our spiritual lives is a sign that we need to call out to God and move closer to Him. We should always be thirsting for the living water that only God can provide. Through Him, we are able to be satisfied and able to grow. We don't have to endure a dry spiritual place in our lives, we can long for, call out to, and be cared for by God!
Don't allow yourself to experience spiritual dehydration. Turn to God and allow Him to give you living water!
Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for providing Your living water and for sustaining me. Help me to always turn to You for spiritual nourishment. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
