The first day of the new year offers us a chance for new beginnings. Instead of trying to reinvent ourselves on our own, we should turn to God. God's Son, Jesus Christ, allows us to become something new that is better than anything we could accomplish on our own!
In order to become something new and better, our old selves must die. We can put to death our sinful selves by accepting Jesus and the redemption He offers us through His death and resurrection. When we allow our old selves to die, we can truly begin living in Him. We can experience all the blessings that He offers when we live with Him!
Allow your old self to die so you can begin to live with Jesus Christ as your Savior!

Dear God-
Thank You for the redemption and new life that You offer me through Your Son. Help me to fully accept all that Jesus has to offer. In His name I pray, amen.
