"Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you; but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that also at the revelation of His glory you may rejoice with exultation. Even though it is winter, it seems as each approaching snow storm is a surprising ordeal. Local forecasters spend weeks leading up to the storm warning of its potential. Then there is the non-stop coverage during the storm. When we step back and evaluate the storms of winter or the storms of our lives, we don't need to be surprised that they occur. Instead, we can be prepared!
There will be fiery ordeals that will require our attention. These times in our lives will test us in many different ways. We need to be prepared for any test that we might face. The best way to prepare is to build our foundation on God. When we know God, study His Word, and talk to Him in prayer, we can be ready. We can rely on God throughout each test and then rejoice with Him for all that He does in our lives!
Don't be surprised that you'll be tested, but be prepared with a foundation built on God!

Dear God-
Thank You for all that You do in my life. Thank You for being a solid foundation that I can stand on during any test I might face. Through Jesus I pray, amen.
