Through It All

"But He knows the way I take; when He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold.  My foot has held fast to His path; I have kept His way and not turned aside."
-Job 23:10-11 (NASB)
As we approach the end of the year, we see many "best of" lists.  We see highlights of the year on the news.  Even in the midst of all the highs, we also know that we sometimes experience times that are not so good.  Through the entire year, God is with us.

As we look back on the past year and forward to the next, we need to remember to keep our feet on God's path.  As we follow Him, He will guide us.  Even through those less than desirable times, we can emerge, refined as gold.  As we embark on our journey through the New Year, we need to stay focused on God and not turn aside!

Through it all, do not turn aside.  Stay focused on God!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for keeping me and bringing me forth as gold.  Help me to keep my feet on Your path and not turn aside.  Through Jesus I pray, amen.

Older and Wiser

"Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart." -II Timothy 2:22 (NASB)
As the year draws to a close, we can look back and say that we have grown both older and wiser.  Sometimes we look at age as a bad thing.  While we may long for youthfulness, being older and wiser does have its advantages!

As we get older and wiser, we can leave behind youthful lusts and naivete.  We can focus on growing in God, increasing our righteousness, faith, love, and peace.  As we focus on what matters in our lives, we can learn to call on God from our purified hearts!

Embrace being older and wiser so you can be purer for God!

Prayer:
Dear God-

Thank You for allowing me to grow older and wiser.  Help my wisdom to be rooted in You so my heart will be pure when I call on You.  In Jesus' name I pray, amen.

Continuing Message

"For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another; not as Cain, who was of the evil one and slew his brother.  And for what reason did he slay him? Because his deeds were evil, and his brother's were righteous." -I John 3:11 (NASB)
God has given us a mission: spread His love.  We are not called to judge others.  We are called to love.  Sometimes loving others is easy.  Sometimes it is hard.  Through it all, we are called to rise above the things of this world that can trip us up and to love one another.

Throughout Jesus' ministry, the message of love is repeated.  Jesus often loved those that the world told Him not to love.  Jesus' continuing message reminds each of us to love God, to love ourselves, to love our parents, to love our neighbors, and to love our brothers and sisters in Christ.  As we prepare for a new year, the message of love continues.  We are called to share God's love with all around us, so they, too, can experience all that God has to offer!

The message continues: Spread God's love!

Prayer:
Dear God-

Thank You for the love that You have for me.  Help me to spread Your love with others, so they, too, can know You.  Through Jesus I pray, amen.

Inspired and Reliable

"All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work." -II Timothy 3:16-17 (NASB)
Taking classes to further my education, I am asked to read many books and articles.  These readings are for training and preparing me in one of many areas of education.  As I read them, I am aware that the theories presented can change, grow, and improve over time.  They are written by individuals relying on research that provides the best picture at the time, but possibly not the entire picture.  There is a book for training in righteousness that does have the entire picture.

The Bible is a book that has all of the information.  The Bible is filled with Scripture inspired by God.  Given to man by God and tested over time, the Bible is not only adequate in its instructions, it is divine and ready for all time.  When we are looking to learn about God and His plan for our lives, the Bible is the place to start.  The inspiration and reliability of the Bible is one piece of the foundation for a Godly and successful life.

The Bible is inspired and reliable.  Take time to read it and learn from it!

Prayer:
Dear God-

Thank You for revealing Yourself to me through Your Word, the Bible.  Help me to understand the messages You have for me and the plan for my life so that I can follow them for You.  Through Jesus I pray, amen.

Refreshed by Others

"I rejoice over the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus, because they have supplied what was lacking on your part.  For they have refreshed my spirit and yours.  Therefore acknowledge such men." -I Corinthians 16:17-18 (NASB)
Christmas and New Year's help us remember the importance of family and friends.  We often make time to visit with each other.  In good spirits, we may share a meal or we may just spend quality time enjoying the company of each other.  These times together can help us relax and refresh.

When writing I Corinthians, Paul made a point acknowledge others and their role in helping God's mission and in refreshing His spirit.  Whether with family, friends, or our brothers and sisters in Christ, we can be renewed and refreshed by the spirits of others and in their contributions to God's mission and to our lives.  We can thank God for those refreshing people that He puts in our lives to keep us moving forward for Him!

Take time to thank God for refreshing people in your life and let them know it!

Prayer:
Dear God-

Thank You for those that You put in my life that refresh my spirit and keep me moving forward for Your Kingdom.  Help me to acknowledge those that help me and allow me to be one that can, in turn, refresh the spirit of others.  In Jesus' name I pray, amen.

Perfect Gift

"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking fine pearls, and upon finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought it."
-Matthew 12:45-46 (NASB)
Christmas is over.  The gifts have been given and unwrapped.  All of the time and stress put into finding the "perfect" gift is over for now.  The joy we get in giving and receiving gifts makes us feel good, but there is a greater gift that awaits!

Heaven is like that perfect gift or that perfect pearl of great value.  When we see it, we will know it.  The difference is that the kingdom of heaven is greater than any gift we could find on earth.  It's greater than anything we could imagine!  The joy we experience in heaven will never end!  If we were shopping for a gift and encountered heaven, we would be willing to sell everything we have for a piece of it.  The good news is that we don't have to sell everything for it.  All we have to do to experience heaven is accept God's gift of forgiveness given to us through His Son!

Prepare for heaven by accepting God's perfect gift!

Prayer:
Dear God-

Thank You for sending Your Son so that I can be forgiven.  Help me to fully accept Your gift and to live my life for You.  In Jesus' name I pray, amen.

Thrive

"For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; and the government will rest on His shoulders; and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.  There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness from then on and forevermore." -Isaiah 9:6-7 (NASB)
The birth of Jesus changed the world.  The child that was born to us changed the course of human history.  Because of the birth of Jesus, we can look forward to His sacrifice that saves all believers.  Because of His birth, we don't just have to survive, we can thrive!

Jesus came to offer us the greatest gift ever - forgiveness and eternal life through His death and resurrection.  We celebrate His coming on Christmas, but that is only the beginning of the story.  His life fulfills God's promise.  Once we have accepted Jesus, we are complete.  We don't have to focus on merely surviving day to day.  We can focus on thriving for God and through God!

Accept the gift of Jesus and shift from just surviving to thriving!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for the gift of Your Son to fulfill Your promise and redeem me from my sinful ways.  Help me to follow You and to thrive in life because I have accepted Your Son as my Savior.  Through Him I pray, amen.

Opportunity

"It will lead to an opportunity for your testimony.  So make up your minds not to prepare beforehand to defend yourselves, for I will give you utterance and wisdom which none of your opponents will be able to resist or refute." Luke 21:13-15 (NASB)
There are times when we feel we have been wronged.  It could be the words of family or friends.  It could be the actions of a coworker or even an inconsiderate stranger.  Often, our first response is to prepare our defense and go pursue righting the wrong that perceived.  When we take a step back from our initial, emotional reaction, the situation may provide an opportunity.

We will experience times of wrong, whether done to us or by us.  We may even experience persecution.  In all of these situations, God is with us.  Instead of immediately defending our actions or pointing out the wrong in others' actions, we should look for the opportunity to provide our testimony.  We don't have to have a long speech prepared, we just need to rely on God. God will provide the wisdom and the words that will fit the situation and allow for the best outcome!

Look for the opportunity to provide your testimony and allow God to provide the right words!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for being active in my life.  Please give me the wisdom and the words to share You with others.  In Jesus' name I pray, amen.

Greatest Grace

"And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed; as it is written, 'He scattered abroad, He gave to the poor, His righteousness endures forever.'"
-II Corinthians 9:8-9 (NASB)
God sent His Son to us for a purpose.  We all have sinned.  We all have a past that includes times where we have fallen short of God's glory.  The good news is that God's grace and blessings, as revealed through the birth, death, and resurrection of His Son, are not based on what we deserve!

Recently, while driving and listening to the radio, I heard a song that spoke of our past and our future in the presence of God.  While we are all sinners, God's grace goes beyond all of our past transgressions.  God's grace goes beyond even the biggest mistakes that we could ever make.  As long as we repent and turn to God, He has mercy on us.  Not only will He not punish us, His grace will bless us beyond what we could ever ask for from Him.  God's grace abounds all around us and His blessings will be with us forever!

Turn to God and accept His offer of the greatest grace you can find!

Prayer:
Dear God-

Thank You for Your mercy and not punishing me for my sins.  Thank You for Your abundant grace and the blessings that You give to me, even though I do not deserve them.  Allow me to live in Your mercy and grace, so others may know Your righteousness.  Through Your Son, Jesus, I pray, amen.

Ready for Company?

"Jesus said to him, 'I will come and heal him.' But the centurion said, 'Lord, I am not worthy for You to come under my roof, but just say the word, and my servant will be healed.'" -Matthew 8:7-8 (NASB)
During the holiday season, many people take time to visit each other, whether on Christmas, New Year's, or some time in between.  When company is coming, we usually take time to spruce up the house, to clean a little more thorough than normal.  Sometimes, though, we may have guests that just "drop by", even if we haven't had a chance readied the house.

While we may get stressed about our friends and family dropping by unannounced, the centurion in Matthew was dealing with a much greater guest: Jesus Christ.  For the centurion, it wasn't a matter of getting his house in order, it was his feeling of unworthiness and his knowledge of Jesus' power that prompted his response.  The centurion's faith welcomed Jesus into his life and Jesus responded by healing the servant.

As we prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus, we need to remember the most important preparation is readying our hearts to receive Him.  Even if we don't think our house is clean and ready for guests, our hearts should be like the centurion's - always ready for the company of God, the Father, and His Son, Jesus Christ our Savior!

Have faith and believe in the power of God and Jesus, making your heart ready for the company of Jesus Christ, the Savior!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for Your grace, mercy, and power.  Help me to always have faith and to be prepared and ready to welcome You into my life and my home.  In Jesus' name I pray, amen.

Light Therapy

"But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin." -I John 1:7 (KJV)
Sometimes the winter weather can leave us feeling tired, moody, or even depressed.  Cold temperatures and shorter amounts of daylight keep us inside and away from our normal activities.  Scientists call these feelings of being tired, moody, and depressed "seasonal affective disorder" or "SAD".  One of the treatments for "SAD" is light therapy.

Darker times can isolate us from others and can torment our souls.  Just like the lack of physical light can drain our bodies, a lack of spiritual light endangers our souls.  Fortunately, God has provided "light therapy" by sending His Son.  Not only do we have the account of Jesus and His ministry to all of mankind, we have the love of God, forgiveness through the sacrifice of Jesus, and fellowship with other believers to help light our way and keep our spirits healthy!

Walk in the light of Jesus so your spirit can be uplifted and redeemed!

Prayer:
Dear God-

Thank You for sending Your Son, for redeeming me, and for allowing me to walk in the light.  Help my words and actions be a light to others.  Through Jesus I pray, amen.

Don't Get Down

"Why, my soul, are you downcast?  Why so disturbed within me?  Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God." -Psalm 42:11 (NIV)
There are times when we get upset.  Whether we are dealing with people or events in our lives, we may get that sinking feeling that continues to try and pull us down.  Even when we feel we are at our lowest point, we still have hope!

When we feel down, no matter how far down, we have hope in our God and in our salvation through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ.  God is always there for us with His everlasting love and the invitation to join His family.  When we are surrounded by that sinking feeling, we can call out to God.  We can reach Him through prayer and praise, reassured that He will always hear us and provide for us, even when we feel we are sinking to our lowest point!

Don't get down. Call out to God in prayer and praise, holding tight to the hope He gives you!

Prayer:
Dear God-

Thank You for the everlasting hope that I have in You.  Thank You for being with me, ready to pick me up, no matter when or where.  Help me to cling to my hope in You, so that I can be a witness for You in the world.  Through Jesus I pray, amen.

Sleeping Well

"In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for You alone, O Lord, make me to dwell in safety." -Psalms 4:8 (NASB)
One of my colleagues spearheaded a pajama drive to benefit children at local homeless and women's shelters.  In the midst of collecting food and money to benefit those in need, we sometimes overlook the need to be warm and comforted for a good night's sleep.  A nice pair of pajamas can give kids the warm, safe feeling needed for a good night's sleep.

When our minds and souls become unsettled and interrupt our sleep, we can find warmth, love, and comfort through faith in God.  Like putting on warm, cozy pajamas, our faith can give us the security and peace that we need to sleep and rest our tired minds and bodies.  When preparing for sleep, we need to pray and renew our faith in God so we can sleep well.

Lie down in peace and safety with faith in God so you can sleep well!

Prayer:
Dear God-

Thank You for the peace and safety that You offer to me.  Please allow my mind and body to rest so that I can be my best for You.  In Jesus' name I pray, amen.

Gift of Love

"By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."
-John 13:35 (NASB)
The Christmas season often brings out the loving and giving side of people.  When we come together in a spirit of love and giving, we can accomplish great things.  Love can help fill the needs that we see around us, but loving others and giving should not be reserved just for Christmas or special occasions.

When we follow Jesus, we are changed by His love for us.  He has shown this love through His sacrifice for our sins.  We should strive to show love for one another in all of our words or actions.  Our acts of love will reveal the greater love that can be found in God the Father and Jesus His Son...all year long and throughout all time!

Give the gift of love all year long so others can see God's eternal gift!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for loving me.  Thank You for sending Your Son as a sacrifice for my sins.  Help my actions to always be rooted in love so that You can be revealed to all those around me.  In Jesus' name I pray, amen.

Year-long Wish

"May the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the steadfastness of Christ." -II Thessalonians 3:5 (NASB)
Watching T.V. at this time of year, we can't help but see specials and commercials about Christmas wishes and the "magic" of Christmas.  As we move into the Christmas season and New Year's celebrations, we often offer each other well wishes, whether through cards or at holiday gatherings.  When we consider our wishes for each other, we should remember the wish of Paul to the church in Thessalonica.

When writing to the church in Thessalonica, Paul wanted the church to be sustained in its faith and to flourish in its mission.  We should want the same for each other.  We should want all of our hearts to be directed into God's love and into His everlasting grace and mercy.  Not only in this Christmas season, but throughout the whole year, we should prayerfully send wishes for the direction of the Lord in our lives and in the lives of others!

Send daily wishes of God's love and everlasting direction to others the whole year through!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for Your love and for being steadfast.  Please direct my thoughts and deeds each and everyday so that others can see Your love and glory through me.  In Jesus' name I pray, amen.

Overcoming the World

"Who is it that overcomes the world?  Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God." -I John 5:5 (NIV)
The world poses many problems.  We are living in the world, as part of the world, but we are also called to be more than what we see around us.  Sometimes we are faced with situations that can cause stress and uncertainty.  On our own, we cannot overcome the problems we face.

Fortunately, we do not have to face the world on our own.  The solution to facing the world and living better is simple: believe in Jesus, the Son of God.  When we believe, we can be more than the world around us.  We can live for Him and through Him.  He will grant us the strength and wisdom to overcome the world!

Be more by believing in Jesus and overcome the obstacles of the world!

Prayer:
Dear God-

Thank You for sending Jesus so that I can believe and be saved through His sacrifice.  Help me to rely on You so that I can overcome the obstacles of this world.  Through Jesus, my Savior, I pray, amen.

All Your Heart

"You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart." -Jeremiah 29:13 (NASB)
In our house, it seems that we are always looking for something.  Whether it's a Lego piece or a certain outfit for a princess doll, we search until we (usually) find it.  When we look at our lives, we sometimes find ourselves searching for missing pieces or answers.

When we  are looking for answers, we should not only be concerned about where we are looking, but also how we are searching.  We should be looking to God for our answers.  We should be searching with a passing glance, but rather with all of our heart.  When we search for God and His answers with all of our heart, we will find Him and His answers for our lives!

Search with all of your heart and find exactly what you need!

Prayer:
Dear God-

Thank You for always being there, ready to listen.  Continue to allow me to find You and help me to hear, understand, and apply Your lessons for my life.  Through Jesus I pray, amen.

Know Him

"The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble, and He know those who take refuge in Him." -Nahum 1:7 (NASB)
When trouble comes, where do we turn?  We may choose to turn to family.  Other times we may turn to old or close friends.  In times of trouble, we look for the most reliable and trustworthy source of strength.

Nahum (1:7) reminds us that the Lord is a good stronghold.  God is filled with love, grace, and mercy.  He is ready to welcome us into His family.  He knows us and cares for us, but we need to know Him.  He knows each of our individual needs.  He knows what we need and is ready to be a source of strength in days of trouble and a reason for praise and thanksgiving in all of our days!

Make sure you know God by turning to Him both when you need refuge and when you offer praise!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for being a stronghold when I need a place of refuge and for being the reason for praise and thanksgiving.  Please continue to know me and be a part of my life.  In Jesus' name I pray, amen.

Holding It Together

"He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.  He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything." -Colossians 1:17-18
Sometimes it is hard to "hold it together."  We may try to do too much and get distracted.  Stresses in life may feel like they are pulling us apart or we may feel stretched in different directions.  Even at church, we might feel different pressures making it difficult for us to focus and keep it together.

When we get stressed or stretched, we need to remember who is really in charge, the one head of the body of the church.  We need to turn to Jesus, the Son of God.  He will help us hold it together and bring us through whatever we are facing.  Whether at home, at work, or at church, we need to remember that all we do should be for the glory of God the Father and Jesus, His Son!

Hold it together by keeping Jesus as the head of the body!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for sending Your Son so that I can be part of Your family.  Help me to hold it together by keeping Jesus as the head of the body and the head of the church.  Through Jesus, the head of the body, I pray, amen.

Prisoners

"Remember the prisoners, as though in prison with them, and those who are ill-treated, since you yourselves also are in the body." -Hebrews 13:3 (NASB)
Even though we might enjoy freedom to worship openly, there are others in the world that do not enjoy the same freedom.  Some people can be imprisoned - or worse - just for proclaiming a belief and faith in God.  When we say our prayers, we should remember all those that are punished for their unwavering faith.

In Hebrews (13:3), we are reminded to remember prisoners as though we are one of them.  Our fellow believers are part of the body of Christ.  Just like when our physical bodies are not at their best when one part is injured, when other believers are suffering, the entire body of believers feels the pain.  We may not be able to be everywhere trying to free everyone of our brothers and sisters imprisoned for their beliefs, but we can support them in prayer, asking God to change hearts so that the body of Christ can be free and complete!

Pray for those that are imprisoned for their belief in the one true God!

Prayer:
Dear God-

Thank You for the freedom that I have to worship You.  Please be with each and every believer that is imprisoned because of their belief in You.  Please support them allow the body of Christ on earth to continue to work for Your glory.  In Jesus' name I pray, amen.

Angry Without Sin

"Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not give the devil an opportunity." -Ephesians 4:26-27 (NASB)
Whether watching my four year-old daughter or my eighth graders, it is sometimes amazing to see how disagreement and anger can arise and then soon be forgotten.  Apparent frustration one day can turn to friendship the next, without a grudge or clinging to past events.  When we think about love, it doesn't exclude times of anger and frustration.  We just need to be careful about how we resolve that anger.

It is okay that we get angry, but we need to be sure we don't let our anger turn into sin.  When anger crosses into vengeance or hatred, then it becomes sin.  We can be angry.  We can use allow God to use our anger to guide us or fix a broken situation, similar to Jesus' anger at the money changers and dealings in the temple, but in the end we need to reach a solution and forgiveness before the devil takes hold of our actions!

When you get angry, don't let it become sin or an opportunity for the devil!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for the forgiveness that You have freely given me.  Help me to resolve my anger through You before it becomes an opportunity for the devil.  In Jesus' name I pray, amen.

Walking with Roots

"Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude." -Colossians 2:6-7 (NASB)
I can remember growing up and going to pick out our Christmas tree.  Having space around our home, we would pick a balled tree, one with roots that we could plant outside after our celebrations.  We would browse the different varieties and eventually settle on one that would make the journey to our home and be decorated.  Each tree had a journey, but in order to survive, it needed to have its roots.

Our journeys through life can take many paths.  God has blessed each of us with different talents and these talents take us to different places or, perhaps, along various paths to reach a similar place.  When we are called by God we need to travel with Him, walking in the path that He has called us.  Even as we walk, we need to be sure our roots are in God and sustained by our faith in Him.  Without our roots firmly attached and deeply rooted in His love, grace, and mercy, we can't survive.  However, when we walk with God, rooted in Him, we will be sure to have much for which to be thankful!

Stay attached to your roots and keep them planted in God!

Prayer:
Dear God-

Thank You for the grace and mercy that You have shown to me.  Help me to keep my roots planted in You so that I can continue to grow and show Your love to all those around me.  Through Your Son, Jesus, I pray, amen.

Freedom in Service

12/9/2014

"You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free.  But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love." -Galatians 5:13 (NIV)
We are fortunate to be free and able to make many choices for ourselves.  While we are able to make choices and live freely, we also have a responsibility to help others.  We may be reminded of that throughout this time of year when we see food drives, toy drives, or hear the bells of the Salvation Army ringing to raise money for those less fortunate.  We need to use our freedom to be in service to others.

When we choose to serve others and help them, we shouldn't be in service for recognition.  We are called to serve others humbly.  We have a choice: we can live freely for our own pleasure or we can live freely by serving others in humility.  When we pass up the chances to indulge the flesh, we can find an even greater pleasure in helping and serving in the name of God!

Live freely and find pleasure in humbly serving others!

Prayer:
Dear God-

Thank You for all that You give to me and do for me.  Help me to humbly share what You have given me so that others may know Your glory.  In Jesus' name I pray, amen.

One Way Ticket!

"And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved." -Acts 4:12 (NASB)
One way streets and do not enter signs can be a challenge when driving in an unfamiliar place.  We might even see where we want to go, but those restrictions can keep us from easily arriving at our destination.  Once we get on the right road, we can arrive without much issue.  To get to our final destination in Heaven, there is also only one way.

There is only one way that we can be saved from our sin.  That is through acceptance of the sacrifice of Jesus and forgiveness through Him.  He came to earth as a baby.  Grew and lived as a man.  He experienced life in human form.  He remained perfect.  His sacrifice is the one way ticket that allows us to join Him in Heaven to experience life beyond earth!

Punch your one way ticket to Heaven by believing in and accepting the salvation offered through Jesus' sacrifice!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for caring for me and offering me forgiveness through the sacrifice of Your Son.  Allow me to live for You, spreading Your Kingdom on earth until it is time for me to join You in Heaven.  Through Jesus, my Savior, I pray, amen.

Sin Eraser

"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." -Romans 5:8 (NASB)
Alex Trebek recently began an episode of "Children's Week on Jeopardy" by explaining that for many of the kids on the show that week, losing Jeopardy was their first experience with failure.  While it may be true that these kids have achieved great academic success without failure, it does not mean that they were never wrong or have never sinned.  We all encounter failure.  We all sin.  It is our responses to those failures and sinful ways that defines us.

God knows that we are not perfect.  He is only asking that we believe in Him, trust Him, accept forgiveness through Jesus, and try our best.  Since we can never live a perfect life on our own, God provides a plan of salvation for our lives.  God isn't waiting for us to get it perfect before He steps in, He is ready to help us even when we are still sinning!  God sent His Son.  His Son died on the cross.  His Son rose from the dead.  Even if we find ourselves in the midst of sin, the sacrifice of Jesus is powerful enough to save us...whenever and wherever!

Accept Jesus and all of your sins will be erased!

Prayer:
Dear God-

Thank You for Your willingness to plan my salvation, even though I am still a sinner.  Please erase my sins and failures and allow me to be a light for You in the world.  Through Jesus I pray, amen.
