Make a Difference!

"Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you." -II Corinthians 13:11 (NIV)

There are times when we must stand up for what is right.  Contrary to what we see in politics and society, we can stand up for what is right in a way that avoids attacking one another and focuses on building each other up.  If we act out of God's love and in His peace, we can stand up for what is right and make a difference!

We are all sinners and therefore are flawed and in need of restoration.  We can help restore each other by acting out of God's love and peace.  We can remind each other of God's presence in our lives, of the lessons in His Word, and the guidance He provides through prayer.  When we focus on God, He can bring us together with one mindset - to encourage, love, restore, and build each other up.  We can then rejoice in our unity and strength that can make a difference during our time in this world!

Restore and build each other up, then follow God in a unified mission to make a difference!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for those around me that encourage and build me up.  Help me be one that encourages others and that makes a difference for Your Kingdom.  Through Jesus I pray, amen.

Creature Powers

"Then God said, 'Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.' So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. And God blessed them. And God said to them, 'Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.'" -Genesis 1:26-28 (ESV)

My daughter enjoys watching the Wild Kratts as they explore the animal kingdom and teach about all of the amazing "creature powers" of different animals.  The Kratt brothers teach about how each animal has its place in the world and abilities that make them special.  It is amazing the unique abilities of animals to fit into and survive in so many different environments.  It is also amazing that we are called to care for these animals!

God is the Creator.  He separated light from darkness.  He has created land, sea, and sky.  He made creatures that live in all places because of their special powers.  As part of His creation plan, God made us, too.  He has put us in a place of responsibility.  We are called to be the caretakers of God's creation.  We are not to abuse and destroy it.  To help us better protect the world that God created, we can learn and understand about the creatures and the creature powers around us.  We can understand the special place of each living thing, including our caretaker role, so we can be responsible stewards!

Understand the creature powers that God created and then follow God's direction as caretaker of His creation!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for all that You have created.  Help me to be a responsible caretaker of all that You have created.  Through Jesus I pray, amen.

Stand Tall, Don't Fall!

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze." -Isaiah 43:2 (NIV)

There is a saying that says if you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.  There are times in our lives when we have to make a crucial choice.  We can choose to stand up for that which we believe in or we can go with the flow.  Either way, there are consequences.  As we make our decision, we should consider God's will and ask for His guidance.

God gives us something to believe in.  There shouldn't be a question about His Truth, love, and expectations.  When we do find ourselves questioning, we can call on God and ask for His guidance.  Following God's guidance, we can stand tall and be reassured that He will help us pass through any challenges or obstacles that we face.  In the end, we can emerge still standing and giving glory to God for all that He accomplishes in and through our lives!

Stand tall in God's will and He will keep you from falling!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for leading me in Your will.  Help me to always stand for what You have taught me is right and keep me from falling.  Through Jesus I pray, amen.

Be a Joy!

"I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth." -III John 1:4 (NIV)

My daughter recently had an art show at school.  Whenever there is an event, it is enjoyable to see her accomplishments and to hear about her efforts in school.  We can find joy in the positive actions of our children and we can provide joy for God when we walk in His ways!

We are all God's children.  Our words and actions can bring joy.  When we communicate with and listen to God's will for our lives, we can find strength and support in Him.  Even when we fail to follow God's will in our lives, we can be reassured by God's grace and mercy.  God is with us.  He loves us.  We can show our commitment to God by striving to follow His will, to bringing glory to Him, and by being a joy in His Kingdom!

As a child of God, walk in His will and be a joy for Him!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for teaching me and allowing me to know Your will in my life.  Help me to follow Your will and to be a joy for You and Your Kingdom.  Through Jesus I pray, amen.

No Problem!

"The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all." -Psalm 34:19 (NIV)

When I was younger, I enjoyed watching the television show ALF.  There were always some problems or mischief throughout the episode, but the lovable alien ALF would usually respond by saying, "No problem!"  As followers of God, we will experience troubles in our lives, but they don't have to become bigger problems!

Loving and following God does not make us exempt from the troubles or issues of the world.  Following God may even put us in opposition to popular thoughts or practices.  Even though we experience trouble in our lives, we do not have to worry about these issues becoming bigger or taking over our lives.  When we experience trouble, we can turn it over to God.  Turning things over to God means letting go and allowing Him to take care of our troubles.  We can rely on and trust in God's wisdom, power, and guidance to help alleviate our problems, no matter what we are facing in our lives!

Turn your troubles over to God and allow Him to say, "No problem!"

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for guiding me and reminding me that You can take care of all my troubles.  Help me to let go so that You can deliver me from whatever I am facing.  Through Jesus I pray, amen.

Kind Words, No Cost!

"Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up." -Proverbs 12:25 (NIV)

Watching the news or interacting with people can show us that there is a lot of anxiety throughout society.  As we search for ways to make an impact in the world, we sometimes overlook the simplest solutions.  As Blaise Pascal notes, "Kind words do not cost much.  Yet they accomplish much."  We can begin changing hearts with kind words!

God has shown us and filled us with love, so we can show love to others.  We can overcome the anxiety of the world by trusting and abiding in God's love.  Through kind words and simple acts of kindness, we can allow others to see God's calming and supportive influence in our lives.  The beauty is that we can show love, we can offer kind words, and we can help overcome anxiety without needing a large bank account.  Our kind words rooted in God's love can have a great impact with no cost!

Help overcome anxiety by offering kind words based in God's love!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for showing me love and for showing simple ways to help others.  Allow my words to be kind and encouraging so that others can overcome the anxieties of this world.  Through Jesus I pray, amen.

Bring Them In!

"Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone." -Colossians 4:5-6 (NIV)

Each and every day, we are presented with many opportunities for interactions with others.  When considering our interactions, attitudes can determine the outcomes of these encounters.  Different approaches may be necessary to reach different individuals, but we need to be aware of God's plan and how we can make the most out of every opportunity!

Outsiders, those that do not know Jesus Christ, may not understand our passion for and willingness to follow God.  It is up to us to present the overwhelming grace and power of God.  We also cannot neglect showing God's eternal love.   It is through love and grace, through guidance and following God's will, that we can show others how God is at work in our lives.  We can show that we are not perfect, but that through God we have found answers that work in our lives and in the lives of others!

Bring others into God's Kingdom by following God and making the most out of every opportunity to share His glory!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for guiding me and for working in my life.  Help me to show others Your glory, grace, and love.  In Jesus' name I pray, amen.

Following with Faith!

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." -Joshua 1:9 (NIV)

Having confidence or being strong and courageous can be easier said than done.  In many ways, we are programmed to care about what society thinks of us.  Whether we realize it or not, we often spend time trying to "fit in."  This may apply at work, with family, or even in church.  Even though we are part of the world, we must be willing to stand up for what is right even if it is not popular!

We can follow God's commands and His will for our lives.  Following God may require us to take a step of faith.  We need to trust God.  In trusting God, we can be comforted, strengthened, and encouraged.  God will always be with us, but we have to be willing to listen and do as He has called us.  When we follow God, our actions may not always be popular or easy.  However, if we listen and follow God, we know we will meet with success for God's Kingdom!

Follow God with trust and courage that He will lead to success!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for the courage and strength that You provide in my life.  Help me to listen and follow Your will for the sake of Your Kingdom.  In Jesus' name I pray, amen.

Why Care?

"So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober." -I Thessalonians 5:6 (NIV)

A situation at work recently prompted someone to ask the question, "Why is he invested in this?"  They were referring to my interest in revising programs for the area in which I teach.  Based on the question, it seems that the person asking the question was used to others that were not "awake" or not desiring to be engaged in the process.

As we think about our spiritual lives, we have choices to make.  We can go with the flow of the world around us and there may even be times that we have to work within the systems of the world.  However, we cannot allow ourselves to be lulled to sleep or silenced.  When there are opportunities to stand up for what is right, we need to be awake and ready to respond.  We can know truth by knowing God.  With God's truth, we can be prepared to care and to stay awake and ready to respond according to His will!

Care because you know God's truth and are ready to stay awake and stand up for it!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for allowing me to know Your truth.  Help me to care, to stay awake, and to be ready to respond according to Your guidance.  Through Jesus I pray, amen.

"Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through Him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses." -Acts 13:38-39 (NIV)

Throughout our lives, we experience expectations and limitations.  We may feel stuck or confined by these situations.  Sometimes we may even feel that we are struggling against our limitations.  While we face expectations, we shouldn't allow ourselves to be defined by the expectations of others.  We should turn to God!

Whenever we feel that we are confined by or struggling against expectations or limitations, we can remember that God has a plan for our lives and that He has already set us free!  We do not have to be bound by our sinful nature.  We can be forgiven, cleansed, and redeemed.  We can be set free!  We can believe in and accept Jesus.  We can put our trust in Him and allow Him to work in our lives.  Through our acceptance of Jesus, we can experience a freedom from the consequences of sin that only God can provide!

Don't be limited by sin and earthly expectations.  Accept Jesus and experience freedom from the consequences of sin!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for the gift of Your Son and the forgiveness through His sacrifice.  Help me to live in Your freedom.  Through Jesus I pray, amen.

Decide to Train!

"Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever." -I Corinthians 9:25 (NIV)

At the beginning of my exercise DVDs runs the promo that says, "Decide. Commit. Succeed."  In order to reach my goals of getting healthy and fit, I have to make decisions and a commitment to daily activity and choices.  This is true for getting physically fit, but we also need to decide and commit to God for spiritual success!

We can train our physical bodies, but we also have to train ourselves for the spiritual battles and challenges that we will face.  We first have to decide that we want to follow God, then we need to commit our lives to Him.  Once we have committed ourselves to God, we can train by reading and contemplating His Word, by talking to God through prayer, and by learning from and fellowship with other believers.  As we spiritually train, we can know that our success will be eternal glory with God!

Decide to follow God.  Commit your life to Him.  Train for spiritual success!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for being my Rock that I can commit to and follow.  Help me to continue to train in Your way and live my life for You.  In Jesus' name I pray, amen.

Healing Scars

"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." -Psalm 147:3 (NIV)

Sometimes we experience times of sadness that we think will never pass.  We may lose someone special that leaves a hole in our lives.  While we think we may never recover, we usually find ways to move on with life, but life may be different even after we have healed.  We may still deal with scars of hurt and loss.

Hurt and loss can alter our lives.  We heal, but things are different.  We can endure during our time on earth.  We can move forward with life.  We can do our jobs, spend time with family, and navigate the routines and responsibilities necessary in life.  However, we can also be reassured that our broken hearts and our brokenness are not just bound together good enough to get by.  One day all of our sorrow, brokenness, and despair will be replaced with overwhelming joy and praise that only God can provide.  God has promised us complete healing when we are reunited with Him in Heaven!

Allow God to bind your broken heart until you are restored in His glory!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for comforting me and for Your promises of healing and restoration.  Help me to remember and trust in Your healing power.  Through Jesus I pray, amen.

Watch, Wait, and Hear!

"But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me." -Micah 7:7 (NIV)

No matter how much we plan or what our true intentions are, life may not always follow our expectations.  We can become frustrated by circumstances that do not live up to our standards.  However, there is a different approach that we may consider.  We can watch and wait for God to reveal His will in our lives!

Even though things may not always be what we expect, God is always what we know.  God is perfect and unchanging.  He is also love, compassion, grace, and mercy.  When things around us are causing alarm or are not going how we think they should, we do not have to panic.  We can watch with hope.  We can wait with confidence.  We can know that God will hear us and we can prepare to hear Him.  Our trust in the Lord is not misplaced.  He will respond to our needs!

Watch and wait on God and then hear His guidance for your life!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for Your promises in my life.  Help me to watch and wait on You, then help me to hear and follow Your will for my life.  In Jesus' name I pray, amen.

Humble and Time

"Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time." -I Peter 5:6 (NIV)

We have probably all experienced times in our lives that are humbling.  We may feel overwhelmed by an expression of kindness or recognition that we did not expect.  There may be times when we are in the presence of others that cause us to be humbled.  Each of these situations can remind us that we have limitations that we cannot overcome on our own!

Whenever we are reminded of our limitations, we can be humbled and remember that we are to serve God in all we do.  We should think about our thoughts, our words, and our actions.  We need to recognize that we are in need of God.  Once we have recognized our needs and admit that we cannot lift ourselves up, then we can call on God and wait on His timing in our lives.  He will show us His way and will lift us up at the right time!

Be humble and wait on God's timing in your life!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for all that You do in my life.  Help me to act out of humility and in accordance with Your timing and Your will.  In Jesus' name I pray, amen.

Eternal Victory

"It was not by their sword that they won the land, nor did their arm bring them victory; it was Your right hand, Your arm,and the light of Your face, for You loved them." -Psalm 44:3 (NIV)

There are times in our life when we may be tempted to keep score.  We look for winners and ways to win in different situations in life.  There may be times when we need to identify winners and losers.  The Good News of Easter is that when it comes to eternity, God has a plan and the power that allows every one of us the ability to choose to be a winner!

As we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus on Easter, we can remember that it is not through our own efforts that we are saved or redeemed.  Our forgiveness and victory over death can only happen because of the events of the first Easter.  The first Easter could only result from the power of God, His grace and mercy, and His love for each and every one of us.  As we move forward from this day of celebration, we need to continue to celebrate and thank God for the eternal victory that He has given us!

Live in the victory that God has given you through the death and resurrection of His Son!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for saving me through the sacrifice and resurrection of Your Son.  Help me to live each day in Your eternal victory.  Through Jesus, my risen Savior, I pray, amen.

Witnesses

"We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey Him." -Acts 5:32 (NIV)

"You'd have to be here to believe it!"  Sometimes we are witnesses to things so incredible that we cannot do them justice with our words and explanations.  The events that we witness will stick with us throughout our lives and be relieved as stories are told and retold.  The moments between Good Friday and Easter Sunday allow us to reflect on the amazing events that demonstrate God's love for us!

While we were not there to witness the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus, there were witnesses.  The accounts of these witnesses can be found in the Bible.  There are other ways to know, too.  We can listen to the peace that God places in our hearts.  We can listen to the small, still voice of the Holy Spirit.  We can understand through the experiences, words, and actions that God directions in our lives.  Through the Holy Spirit, each of these can give meaning to God's glorious works and we can come to know and obey God!

Be witnesses of God's glory through the Holy Spirit!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for Your love and for all that You show me and teach me.  Help me to witness and to share Your wonderful works with others.  Through Jesus I pray, amen.

This is Temporary!

"And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast." -I Peter 5:10 (NIV)

Life has its ebbs and flows.  Sometimes we experience great joy and other times we are faced with sadness.  During all seasons of our lives, we must remember that our time on this earth is only temporary.  We will be strengthened, we will be supported, and we will overcome whatever we face!

As we reflect on Good Friday, we can remember that suffering and death are temporary.  Jesus came to die for all of our sin.  He gave Himself up to suffer and die in our place.  For Jesus, this death wasn't the end.  He is risen!  Because Jesus rose from the dead and conquered death, we can believe and be comforted in God's promises that we will one day be brought into His Heavenly Kingdom and will rejoice and celebrate our victory over the temporary through God's awesome grace, mercy, and power!  We will be restored beyond anything this temporary world can offer!

This is only temporary, for God will restore and rebuild you in His glory!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for loving me and for You restorative promises.  Please strengthen me now to deal with the temporary until I can see Your full glory.  Through Jesus I pray, amen.

Learn!

"Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord." -Proverbs 16:20 (NIV)

As we travel through life, we continually learn lessons from the people and experiences we engage in.  Bill Nye is quoted as saying, "Everyone you will ever meet knows something you don't."  As we interact with each other, we can remember that we each have unique experiences.  God has placed these people and experiences in our lives for a reason.

We can always learn more.  We can learn more about God and we can learn more from God.  As we face different experiences or interact with different people, we can turn to God to help us understand and know how to act or react.  God can give us the guidance that we need, but we need to be open to hearing and heeding His instruction.  We know that we can trust Him and we know that He has lessons for us, but we need to be ready and willing to listen and learn!

God will give instruction, but you need to be ready and willing to learn!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for guiding me and teaching me.  Help me to learn what You intend me to learn.  In Jesus' name I pray, amen.

Don't Sink Ships!

"Whoever conceals hatred with lying lips and spreads slander is a fool." -Proverbs 10:18 (NIV)

There is a saying that originated during World War II that says, "Loose lips might sink ships."  The intention was to remind people that talk and spreading of information could have disastrous consequences.  There are times when trying to "whitewash" hatred can also lead to negative outcomes.  We need to be sure our lips, our words and actions, are rooted in God's will to have positive outcomes!

God is truth.  God is love.  When we are following God's will we should not engage in lying and we should not engage in hatred.  We should not hide hatred with lies and we should not spread false information.  When we are following God, we can Him to fill our lives with His truth and love.  With His truth and love, we can then show others what God can offer them in their lives.  God gives us the Good News that we can share that is neither based on hatred nor lies and will never sink our ships!

Don't allow your lips to sink ships, but rely on God's truth and love to raise each other up!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for Your love and guidance.  Help me to be filled with and spreading Your truth and love through all of my words and actions.  In Jesus' name I pray, amen.

Seek and Don't Stray

"I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands." -Psalm 119:10 (NIV)

My dog likes me.  Whenever I get home, he is not satisfied until I pet him.  When I leave, he misses me and lays by the door, even if the rest of the family is home.  He will look for me everywhere and just wants to be around me.  When I think about my spiritual journey, I want to be attached to God like my dog is to me!

As we travel through life, we know that God is always there for us.  Sometimes, though, we can get caught up in the things of life and move away from God.  Instead of moving away, we need to seek and search for God.  We need to hold tight to His commands and to His will.  We need to not be satisfied until we are in God's presence and spending time with Him.  We need to seek God!

Don't be satisfied until you are seeking and spending time with God!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for always being there for me.  Help me to always seek You and to obey Your commands!  Through Jesus I pray, amen.

Bless Not Curse

"Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse." -Romans 12:14 (NIV)

There are certain people that are sure to challenge us in our lives.  The challenges that they present to us are often rooted in our reactions.  I recently saw a quote that said, "What you allow is what will continue."  How we respond to those that challenge and persecute us can perpetuate the persecution or begin to turn the tide!

Whenever we are faced with persecution, we can wallow in self-pity.  We can try to "get even" or respond out of anger.  However, we can also choose to turn the other cheek.  Instead of responding with anger or an intent to get even, we can pray for those that persecute us.  We can ask God for His guidance in our words and actions.  After we talk to God, then we have to listen and trust in His plan and in His guidance for enduring persecution according to His will!

Pray to God and bless those that persecute you!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for Your support and guidance in the face of persecution and challenges.  Help me to know and to follow Your plan.  In Jesus' name I pray, amen.

Rejoicing and Celebrations

4/9/2017

"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!" -Philippians 4:4 (NIV)

There are times in our lives that we celebrate.  Sometimes we are filled with joy that we think will last forever, but it fades as we become engulfed in the everyday routines of life.  As we prepare to celebrate the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, we need to remember that this is not only a time of reflection, but also a time of rejoicing and celebration!

As Jesus entered the city riding on a donkey, He was met with great fanfare.  Palms and clothing on the ground to prepare the way marked the esteem in which people held Him.  However, we know that many of the people forgot the feelings of celebration and rejoicing they experienced that day.  We have the stories and lessons in the Bible from that first Palm Sunday as well as later reflections such as those in Philippians that remind us to continually rejoice and celebrate.  God has sent His Son to die for our sin and to save us.  There is no greater reason to continually rejoice and celebrate the Lord than that!

Jesus came to die for you, so continually rejoice in Him and celebrate!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for the gift of redemption that You have provided through Your Son.  Please forgive my sin and help me to live a life of rejoicing and celebration.  Through Jesus, Your Son, I pray, amen.

End Game

"I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end He will stand on the earth." -Job 19:25 (NIV)

There are times when things seem unfair.  We try to "play by the rules", but the end game doesn't seem designed to ever go our way.  While we face the realities of living in a world filled with sin and temptation, we need a game plan.  We can survive and thrive when the game plan is built on trust in God and His will!

Job faced more than most of us could imagine.  The tests of Job's faith and his responses can teach us how to handle challenges that we face and how to build our game plan for whatever life throws our way.  We each face unique challenges that have the potential to disrupt our relationship with God.  The devil will tempt us and do his best to persuade us to drift toward him.  While we live in the midst of a fallen world, we do not have to take part in the devil's game.  We can put our trust in God and know that He is alive, active, and will be the one that is standing in the end!

Don't be fooled by the devil's ways, know that God is more powerful and His full glory will be revealed in the end!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for Your truth, power, and support.  Help me to always hold on to Your promises, Your love, and Your power.  Through Jesus I pray, amen.

Confidence in the End Result!

"You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives." -Genesis 50:20 (NIV)

"When life gets harder, challenge yourself to be stronger."  I recently saw that quote and it reminded me of the challenges that we face in life.  Life is not easy.  We live in a world plagued by sin and the consequences of those sins.  Even though we may feel challenged and others may intend harm, we can be confident in the end result!

The path that we choose in life will lead us through different circumstances and put us in contact with different people.  We cannot know all of the outcomes.  We cannot control how other people will respond to us.  In all things, we can know that God is with us.  When we trust in God, we can know that the experiences we have in our lives will prepare us for all that we will face.  God will use whatever outcomes and responses we encounter for His greater plan for our lives!

Trust in God to protect and guide you!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for all that You have given me in my life.  Please continue to guide me and prepare me for all that I will face in my life.  Through Jesus I pray, amen.

Each of us have special gifts.  Whether we realize it or not, we have unique contributions that help to shape the world in different ways.  Our decisions about how to use our talents can help to define who and what we are in life.  As may superhero books and movies have shown us, we may choose to use our talents for good or evil!

God has granted us talents and skills and He has shown us love.  In our journeys through life, we need to acknowledge God's love and allow it to help shape our lives.  If we ignore love, then we will not be effective in applying our talents.  Without acting in love, our efforts will be nothing.  Our actions, applying our talents and skills, should be done with God's love to allow them to be greater than we could ever imagine or accomplish on our own!

Act in God's love and be something for Him!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for showing and teaching me love and for blessing me with talents and skills.  Help me to apply these through Your love in service to Your Kingdom.  Through Jesus I pray, amen.
