Sometimes we think that it is vain to take care of our body, and it may be if "looking good" becomes our sole purpose. However, the Bible reminds us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. Our bodies are not our own. They belong to God. We should take the time to care for our bodies as a way to honor God.
Keeping our bodies functioning properly requires attention to how we care for our bodies. We need to be aware of what we are feeding our bodies, both in physical and spiritual food. We need to take the time to exercise our bodies, physically, mentally, and spiritually. We need to physically rest our bodies and to spiritually rest in God's reassurance and power.
Don't let your personal temple for God decay and crumble. If you feel that your body is trying to tell you something, take notice. Then take care of your body as a way to celebrate and honor God.
Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for giving me my body as a temple for You. Please help me to keep my temple pure and healthy for You. Use my temple in service to and worship of You. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
