-Luke 4:32 (NIV)
Jesus took a different approach to getting people's attention. He was neither loud nor flashy. He wasn't the most educated by earthly standards or the highest paid. What Jesus had was an authority from God and a truth that made people stop, listen, and gravitate toward Him.
Luke tells us that when Jesus spoke people noticed His teaching. His words were filled with authority. Those that heard His words first hand were amazed. Now, over two thousand years later, His words are still life changing. When we are trying to get people's attention for God, we should rely on the authority of Jesus' words.
We have the authority and truth of Jesus' words. We don't have to be the loudest or flashiest. We can let Him do the talking through us.
Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for sending me Your Son. Thank You for the authoritative words that Jesus has given me and that are still true today. Help me to use these words wisely to get people's attention for You. Through Jesus I pray, amen.
