Be a "Noah"

"The LORD saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.  The LORD regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and His heart was deeply troubled.  So the LORD said, 'I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created - and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground - for I regret that I have made them.' But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.  This is the account of Noah and his family.  Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God." -Genesis 6:5-9 (NIV)
The world around you can be cruel.  It can be challenging.  It can feel unloving.  It can feel like you are surrounded by evil or wickedness.  It can feel like you are one of the few, if not alone.  Few people could identify with those feelings more than Noah and his family.  Noah lived in a time that was so filled with wickedness and evil that God decided He would destroy His own creation!

When Noah was surrounded with wickedness and evil, he stood out because of his righteousness and his relationship with God.  Noah set an example for the rest of the world, even if the rest of the world did not heed Noah's example.  Noah lived his life by God's standards...and God noticed!

Noah's life can be an example for us that can be applied directly to our lives.  Our world is far from perfect.  We live in a world filled with sin and temptation, where the voices of wickedness are often louder than the voices for righteousness.  Even though there is wickedness around us, we can be like Noah and stand out for God!  Our actions and our relationship with God should make us different from the wickedness around us.  We should catch the eyes of our peers, as well as God's eye, in good, righteous ways.

Always make the choices to live a righteous life and have a relationship with God.  You will stand out...in a good way!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for rescuing Noah and showing Your love for all of us.  Strengthen me so that I, too, can live a righteous life.  Allow me to have a relationship with You that will help me stand out in the world in a good way.  In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
