Busy Living or Dying?

"My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." -Psalms 73:26 (NASB)

"For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive." -I Corinthians 15:22 (NASB)
One of my students asked me today, "Is it true that we start dying as soon as we are born?"  Beginning the moment we are created, we are growing and we are getting older and closer to the end of our earthly life.  The student's thinking and question reminded me of a famous movie quote from Shawshank Redemption when the main character Andy says, "Get busy living, or get busy dying."

As the Psalmist reminds us, even when our bodies may fail, God is our strength that will be with us forever.  When we look at our spiritual lives, we should always be growing and never be dying!  When we live in Christ, we don't have to worry about dying, we can focus on living!  Living in God can take away our worries and allow us to show His mercy and love to others.

Don't be busy dying, focus on living in God!

Prayer:
Dear God-

Thank You for loving me and being my forever strength.  Help me to live in You without worry and allow me to show Your love in all I do.  Through Jesus, my Redeemer, I pray, amen.
