As we journey through life, there are times when God challenges our thinking and actions. There are times when we must change our mind. Sometimes these changes are minor and seem inconsequential. Other times the change may have larger impacts. Changing your mind may be difficult. Admitting that you needed to change your mind is sometimes even more difficult than the act of changing your mind!
The word repent in this scripture passage (Acts 17:30) is a translation from a Greek word meaning "to have another mind" or "to change the mind." When we confess our sins to God, accept Jesus as our Savior, and choose to live a life for God, we are called to become a new person in Him. When we repent, we must be willing to change our mind and our actions to truly reflect our commitment to God.
When we acknowledge God's sovereign power in our lives, we become devoted to Him. As you talk to God you can confess your sins, ask for His forgiveness through Jesus Christ, and commit to living a new life. A committed life to God causes our minds change from "I can" to "He can!" This type of changing your mind should be a joyous occasion, because through Him all things are possible!

Dear God-
Thank You for allowing me to confess my sins and to repent. Thank You for the forgiveness You offer through the sacrifice of Your Son. Help me to change my mind and actions to be a better witness for You! In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
