"'Can I not, O house of Israel, deal with you as this potter does?' declares the LORD.  'Behold, like the clay in the potter's hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel.'" -Jeremiah 18:6 (NASB)
God gives us experiences to help shape our lives.  God's power can affect every part of our lives, from the biggest issues to the smallest details.  Sometimes these experiences are painful, testing us and our reliance on God.  Other experiences are refreshing and rejuvenating, allowing us to experience joy and grow spiritually, personally, and professionally!

You may have heard the comparison before: God is the potter and we are His clay.  God shapes us, molds us, and strengthens us with fire!  We are all works in progress.  Sometimes we forget that He has a perfect plan for us and we struggle to wrestle control away from Him.

We are reminded in Jeremiah (18:6) that God does have a plan for each of our lives.  God knows what we need and He will work, as a potter does, to shape and reshape us into what He wants us to be.  Even when we forget His plan, He is able to rework and remold us.

This weekend I experienced one of those rewarding, refreshing, and rejuvenating experiences.  God provided supportive people in a learning experience that helped and will continue to help me grow professionally so that I can better serve Him through the education of my students.  I am thankful for the people and opportunities that He is using to reshape me personally and professionally!

Have faith in God's plan for you.  Look for the opportunities that God has provided to help shape and polish you into just one of His many, beautiful creations!

Prayer:
Dear God-

Thank You for taking the time to care about me, to mold me, and to shape me into what You want me to be.  Help me to hear all that You are saying to me and allow me to give control to You.  Help me to use the opportunities that You provide for the benefit of others and for Your kingdom.  In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
