Consistency

"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." -Hebrews 13:8 (NASB)
Whether raising children, teaching, or babysitting, it is important to have consistent expectations.  Knowing what kind of behavior is expected is important.  It is also important that the children in our care know what to expect from us.  As children of God, we do not have to be concerned about consistency.

God's expectations do not change.  We know what God expects of us.  Jesus taught us that we are to love Him with all of our heart, our soul, and our mind.  We are to ask for and accept the forgiveness offered through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.  We are to love our neighbors as we love ourselves.

God's approach to us also doesn't change.  God is always available to us, we just have to call on Him.  God is love.  God offers us grace, mercy, and forgiveness through His Son, no matter what we have done, do, or will do in our lives.  God is our Heavenly Father, ready to welcome us into His family.

If we have questions, we can turn to the Bible and learn about God.  Through reading His Word and talking to Him through prayer, we can learn who God is and what He expects of us.  God is consistent.  God is love.  God wants to have a relationship with each and every one of us!

Jesus Christ is always the same...He is the ultimate example of consistency!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for loving me and being consistent in Your approach and Your expectations.  Help me to continue to learn more about You, today, tomorrow, and forever!  Through Jesus I pray, amen.
