Sometimes people are not nice. It's a lesson that my daughter is learning. From preschool to family, she is learning that she needs to get along with people, even when they are not the nicest. As adults, we need to remember that we should do good to everyone, too, not just those that are nice to us.
It is easy to be nice to those that are nice to us, but the challenge comes when we need to be nice to those that are not always nice. In society, it is often the norm to repay good with good and insult with insult. Jesus challenges us to live above the norm. We are called to love everyone. We are to do good in the name of God, regardless of what has been presented to us.
Do good to everyone, no matter what they do to you!

Dear God-
Thank You for being a good and gracious God. Help me to follow Your example so that I can be loving and good, even when society says otherwise. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
