Don't Be Dead!

"And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience.  Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging ithe desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.  But God, being rich in mercy, becuase of His great love, with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)" -Ephesians 2:1-5 (NASB)
People do lots of different things to "feel alive".  Current research on members of the younger generation  are experiencing increasing levels of anxiety and depression.  Current teenagers may seek ways to feel alive or to relieve their anxiety and depression through things ranging from risk-taking to self-harm.  We may have different views or approaches to how we experience life and the amount of risk we are willing to take, but we can feel alive when we know our purpose!

As we grow through our spiritual "teenage" years, we need to remember that God can help us leave behind our "dead" selves.  Even while we are trapped in the grasp of death and sin, God has a plan for our lives.  We don't have to remain in a life that leads to death or that lacks purpose.  We can be alive through a relationship with God.  Through God's redemption, we can live a life of purpose.  We can be filled with His love and spread His love to others.   We can be alive and share our purpose through Jesus Christ!

Don't be dead.  Be alive by accepting salvation and sharing God's love!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for saving me from death.  Help me to share Your love and salvation with others so they, too, can be alive in You.  Through Jesus I pray, amen.
