Don't forget church

"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching."
-Hebrews 10:24-25 (NIV)
I must admit, there are some Sunday mornings when it is difficult to get out of bed and get ready for church.  Sometimes it's the weather.  Sometimes it's the desire to sleep a little more.  Sometimes it's thoughts of experiencing God in ways other than "traditional" church.  Whatever the reason, we need to remember the value of fellowship with other believers.

God calls us together to be a body of believers.  As Christians, we become part of the body of Jesus Christ.  In order to function as one body, we need opportunities to fellowship and communicate with other believers.

I know that whenever you get a group of people together there will be disagreements and differences in personalities.  However, we are called together in the name of Jesus, so we need to move beyond our differences in order to focus on the one true message of God.  If any one of us begins to stray from God's message, we need to be able to lovingly help each other regain our focus.

Church is not about a building, but it is about building a united body of believers for Christ.  When we combine as one body we can capitalize on individual strengths and compensate for individual weaknesses to further God's kingdom as one body.  Prepare yourself to serve God...and don't forget church as part of the process!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for giving me a body of other believers.  Please allow us to fellowship and work together to further Your kingdom and spread Your message.  In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
