Sometimes we get caught up in things that sound good. As the saying goes, "If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is!" The message of God is an exception to this "rule". God's message both sounds too good and is true! Even so, there are times when people try to distort that message.
We are called to love others and not judge, but that doesn't mean we should be blindly accepting of everything we are told. We can leave the judgments up to God, but we do need to be discerning about the messages that people are sharing. Not everything is as it appears! Sometimes we have to make the choice to love someone while rejecting their message. We have to be prepared. How will we know God's truth? By reading His Word and talking to Him through prayer. God will protect us from false prophets as long as we are listening to the one true voice of God!
Don't judge, but beware. Prepare by listening to God's Word!

Dear God-
Thank You for Your protection from false prophets. Help me to know Your Word and listen to Your voice, so I can discern the false from the true. Through Jesus I pray, amen.
