-Isaiah 62:1 (NIV)
There are times that we might feel intimidated or like we don't want to "rock the boat", so we sit quietly on the sidelines. Instead of being like the roosters, we are as silent as rocks and let the moment pass by. The scripture from Isaiah (62:1) reminds us that we should be like these roosters. I'm not saying we should crow to show off for our own sake, but rather to proclaim the glory of God and His one true message. We have God's truth, God's vindication, and God's love and grace to be shown like a blazing torch... or crowed in our loudest voices!
In order to spread God's blazing torch of love and salvation, we cannot keep quiet. Our words and deeds should proclaim God's word and uphold each other in the faith. There may be times at work, play, family time, and even in church when God calls us to speak up for His sake. We must trust in God to provide the timing, words, and wisdom to speak in faith and truth to further His kingdom.
Be prepared to speak. Sitting silently on the sidelines when God calls is not an option. Be ready to crow for Him to announce His presence and claim His territory!
Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for giving me a message worth sharing - the message of Your love and salvation. Do not allow me to sit silently, but let me speak for You so that Your blazing torch of salvation can shine into all of the darkness around me. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
