We are fortunate to live in a country that allows many freedoms. Beginning with the Declaration of Independence, our forefathers acknowledged the importance of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We are also granted freedom through the sacrifice of Jesus. Through Jesus' death, we, each and every one of us, can live as free, forgiven people, not having to worry about the consequences of our sins.
We can live as free people and we can worship as we please, practicing our faith. We need to remember that our freedoms, whether through the laws or through God's plan of forgiveness, are not a license to do whatever we want, to be wicked, or to cover up our sins. Our freedom carries responsibility. As we are living freely, we must be mindful to live as servants of God, making every effort to follow His will and spread His love.
Enjoy and celebrate your freedom from sin and its consequences, but remember to live as a servant of God!

Dear God-
Thank You for Your gifts of salvation and freedom. Help me to use my freedom as a witness to others in order to be a shining light for Your kingdom. Through Jesus I pray, amen.
