Glimpses of God

"No one has seen God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us.  By this we know that we abide in Him and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit." -I John 4:12-13 (NASB)

My daughter likes looking in the mirror.  She can't brush her teeth in the bathroom or walk by a mirror in the store without stopping to look at herself.  My daughter can only see herself in a mirror, but we are reminded in 1 John that no one has seen God.  We cannot look in a mirror or at a picture and see God...Or can we?  

John tells us that no one has seen God, but he tells us that God is with us and His love is made perfect in us.  God created us in His image, so even though we can't see God, we can see glimpses of Him.  He has given us His Spirit, so that He can abide in us and we can abide in Him.  When living in God's Spirit, each time we look in the mirror or at each other, His perfect love can bring us together and allow us to see glimpses of God!

Each time you look in the mirror and at each other, take time to feel God's Spirit and see glimpses of God!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for abiding in me and giving me Your Spirit so that I can know You better.  Help me to see You in myself and others and allow me to follow Your plan for me.  In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
