While attending a recent conference, one presented asked a group of teachers and professors, "What is the purpose of education?" There can be many answers to this seemingly simple question and there may be disagreement about a "correct" answer. The presenter was asking to in order to make a point. In his view, education shouldn't be for the sole purpose of getting a "good job", but for meaningful happiness.
As we consider our purpose, we may find value in many of the things we do each day. Our actions can provide care and comfort for ourselves and for others, but are these things our true calling? We are reminded in the Bible that we are to live for God through His Son, Jesus Christ. As we live for God, we should not be seeking glory for ourselves, but we should live so others can see God's glory. We can become less of the emphasis as God receives the glory for all of our blessings!
Become less of a distraction so God can become more of the focus!
Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for all of the blessings in my life. Help my life to bring glory to Your name. Through Jesus I pray, amen.
