Showing mercy to others can sometimes be challenging, but Abraham Lincoln said, "I have always found that mercy bears richer fruits than strict justice." We can be tempted to rely on strict and swift justice, but that's not what God has shown us. God wants us to bear rich fruits for His Kingdom!
God is merciful. He has shown us mercy by sending His Son as a pardon for our sin. Even though we are sinners, He spares our lives. We can be forgiven and redeemed through acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Savior. With God's mercy, we can have a new life, we can bear rich fruit in our lives, and we can choose to show mercy to others!
Have mercy just as God has shown you mercy!

Dear God-
Thank You for the mercy that You have shown me. Help me to understand Your mercy and to show mercy to others. Through Jesus, my Savior, I pray, amen.
