Have patience

"Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.  And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing."  -James 1:2-4 (NASB)
Patience.  Waiting.  Not getting an answer RIGHT NOW!  As the internet, smart phones, wi-fi,on-demand T.V. programming and DVRs, and the like have become more mainstream, we have become conditioned to expecting an immediate answer or obtaining the immediate, desired result.  If it doesn't feel good, happen almost instantaneously, or go as smoothly as expected, then we tend to get irritated, frustrated, or disappointed.

The quickest response is not always the right response.  We need to remember that God has a plan and everything happens because of His plan.  Just like a runner preparing for a marathon, we need to build endurance.  Encountering and overcoming trials and obstacles makes our faith stronger.  Short sprints can become longer runs toward reaching a goal.  Each step in reaching a pinnacle shapes us and works to create the perfect result desired by God.

Waiting for our desired answers may take a lifetime, but God's answer to what we need is always present.  As we turn control over to God, He will guide us and assure that we will prosper in His plans for each of us.  We may have to work, we may be faced with trials, but in the end the perfect result supported by God and His love for us will be complete and that much sweeter!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for wanting me to build endurance in order to reach the perfect, complete end result.  Help me to listen to You and rely on You to help me through every obstacle.  In Jesus' name, Amen.
