The world seems to tell us that we need to be right, regardless of what the facts may say. However, there is more to life and our interactions with each other than each of us needing to be right. As Ezra Taft Benson, a farmer and former Secretary of Agriculture, reminds us, "Pride is concerned with who is right. Humility is concerned with what is right."
As we follow God, we can know right, then we have to put it into practice. We need to live in ways that are focused on knowing God's truth. We don't have to argue or debate who is right, because God is the source of truth, but the way we tell others of God's truth is important. We need to approach our lives, our relationship with God, and our interactions with each other in ways that are humble, kind, and filled with love. This doesn't mean we are not strong or that we do not stand firm in God's truth, but we need to follow God's plan and allow Him to work in His timing to make a difference in the lives of others through our humble lives. As we live humbly for God, He will bless us and lift us up!
Live humbly in God's truth and allow Him to work in His time and to lift you up!
Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for the blessings in my life. Help me to live humbly in Your truth and love so that others can see You and allow You to work in their lives, too. Through Jesus I pray, amen.
