It's not about stuff!

"Then He said to them, 'Beware and be on guard against every form of greed; for not even when one has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions.'"
-Luke 12:15 (NASB)

We have stuff. There's the stuff we need to survive and live life, then there's the stuff we want. We gather, we save, and we value all of our possessions or stuff. It's not automatically bad to have stuff, but we need to be careful of our true desires and greed.

Jesus warns us to guard against greed. This warning may be even more relevant today than ever. We can get carried away in a consumer driven society. No matter how much we have, we are told that there is always more that we "need" or want. Jesus tells us that even if we have all of this stuff, it won't define our lives or who we are in our lives.

Living a full life isn't about our stuff, it's about our choices and actions. We can live a full life on earth and an eternal life by choosing to submit to God's will for our lives and acting on the Salvation that has been given to each of us.

Don't worry about stuff. Define your life with a faith in and responsiveness to God!

Dear God-
Thank You for Jesus and His teachings. Help me to beware of my desires for stuff and to define my life in You. Through Jesus I pray, amen.
