When I was in college, one of the pastor's at the church I attended talked about this verse and what it meant to him. His father had passed away when he was a young child and he remembered the people that provided support for him and his family. He credited the strength found in this verse for the hope that he had growing up and the influence on his decision to become a pastor. As I think about my students and the situations people face, I am reminded that we need to seek justice and follow God's will!
God has provided us with His Word that we can learn about truth and justice. We can learn about God's will for our lives. As we follow God, we are to respond to His calls to show love and compassion. As individuals and communities of believers, we can defend the oppressed and support the fatherless and widowed. We can meet the needs of those in society by showing God's love through our actions and positively impact lives of those around us!
Learn and practice God's love and compassion!
Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for the lessons that You provide. Help me to learn what You have intended for me to learn and help me to apply it throughout my actions. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
