"Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it." -Psalm 34:14 (NIV)
I have been doing a lot of reading about justice and equity. One of the common themes is that acknowledging injustice is not sufficient in overcoming injustice. If we really want to overcome evil and injustice, we need to do more than turning from it. We need to then move toward justice, peace, and goodness!
To pursue peace, justice, and goodness, we need need to first turn away from evil. Once we turn away from evil, we can begin to move closer to God. God cannot tolerate evil or injustice. Recognizing God's holiness can help us recognize evil and injustice. We can also call on God to help us move toward justice and peace. With God's direction we can live in His justice and peace and we can seek and work for justice and peace. We can live and do the work within our sphere of influence and pray that God spreads peace, love, and justice throughout the world!
Recognize God's holiness and then work to live and do His work for peace and justice!

Dear God-
Thank You for the peace You provide in my life. Please use me as an instrument for peace and justice in my sphere of influence. Through Jesus I pray, amen.
