In Romans (13:9) we are reminded that the commandments that we may view as restrictive can be summed up as, "Love your neighbor as yourself." The "do nots" provided in the commandments can guide us in our decisions and in our lives, but we should also focus on the broader impacts of our actions. When we are listening to God, we are to be showing His love. When we love God, we can love ourselves, and we can show this love to everyone around us. We can love our neighbors as ourselves!
Listen to God's commandment to love your neighbor as yourself!
Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for Your love and for sharing it with me. Please continue to give my life direction and show me how to love myself and love my neighbor through You and Your love. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
