When I first moved from Pennsylvania to Connecticut, there were phrases and names of things that weren't the same. Whether ordering a hoagie (grinder) or office supplies, the message wasn't always clear. I expected some differences, but others I had to learn. The message of the cross is one that we sometimes think everyone should understand, but that is not the case.
The message of the cross can be clear to us that know its power and are being saved by Jesus' sacrifice and God's grace. We know the message and we understand it, but we also need to remember that the message is not always understood by everyone. When others' see our faith as foolishness, we need to be patient. We can show others the power of God's saving grace through loving words and actions so that one day they can understand the one true message of the cross!
