I have recently read articles about a local middle school student that has founded a charity that collects school supplies from pencils to computers for disadvantaged students, a student that has developed a Braille printer built primarily from Legos, and other stories of young people accomplishing amazing things. These stories paired with conversations with my daughter and my middle school students remind me that being young doesn't mean we can't learn from them. Whether it's innocence, perspective, or something else, the youth around us can teach all of us!
God blesses each of us with unique and individual talents. Whether younger or older, we can learn from each other. We should not discount someone simply because he or she is young. Young people can show us how to reach out as individuals and as a church. Young people can show us that there is hope through faith in God. Young people can show us that it is still possible to grow in God's way and to honor Him through all that we do. As we look around at the younger generations, we should be open to teaching them and learning from them!
Those around you are never too young to teach you something!

Dear God-
Thank You for all that You have taught me. Help me to be open to both teaching and learning from those that You put in my life. Through Jesus I pray, amen.
