Patience and Repentance

"The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance." -II Peter 3:9 (NASB)
With the internet and smart phones, it is easy to get caught up in expecting an answer or finding out information in an instant.  When we have to wait on things, it can seem like it is taking forever.  Even though we know that God keeps His promises, His timeline doesn't always match our expectations for immediate results.

God does keep His promises and He is not slow.  He has a timeline and it is perfect.  In fact, even when it seems to us that God's promises are slow in coming, the time may be for our benefit.  God doesn't want any of us to miss out on His invitation for redemption and eternal life with Him.  What may seem to be a slowness to us is in fact God's patience waiting for each and everyone of us to come to repent and accept the salvation offered through the death and resurrection of Jesus.

When you think God's promises are slow to come, take the opportunity God's patience provides and repent!

Prayer:
Dear God-

Thank You for Your patience with me and the opportunity to repent.  Forgive me and help me to draw closer to You.  Through Jesus,my Savior, I pray, amen.
