We may have learned the lesson from when we were young: Treat others the way you want to be treated. Sometimes following this "golden rule" is easy as people treat us with love and respect. However, it can become more difficult when people treat us unfairly. Even when we are experience evil, our payment needs to be blessings and love!
Whether we experience good or evil, we are called by God to respond in ways that show His love, power, and blessings. Even when we find it difficult to respond with God's love, He is ready to help us. We need to call on, trust in, and follow Him. When we believe in and follow God, He can help us be sure that we are making the right payments in response to others. He can fill our hearts with love and then guide our words and actions to be sure we never repay evil with evil!
