When we go to the store, my daughter likes to look at the toys and games. There's always something that catches her eye. One lesson that she learns is that she can't always get what she wants when we go to the store. As children of God, we sometimes have to learn a similar lesson!
Sometimes there are things we want or that we think we need. We think that once we get these possessions, our lives will be easier or better. Often, the opposite is true. The more we have can, in some ways, distract us from our true purpose and make us want even more. We need to learn to say no to our wants. When greed sets in, we need to pray to God and find contentment in His love and the possessions and gifts that He has given us.
Don't let greed take control. Pray and find contentment in God's gifts!

Dear God-
Thank You for all that You give to me. Help me to find contentment in the gifts that You have given me. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
