Red and White Hearts

"'Come now, and let us reason together.' Says the Lord, 'Though your sins are as scarlet, they will be white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, they will be like wool.'" -Isaiah 1:18 (NASB)
My daughter has been excited for weeks about the Valentine's party at school.  She filled out her cards and we bought candy in red hearts.  She learned that Valentine's Day is a time for telling others that we love them.  While we might celebrate with red, pink, and white heart decorations, our hearts are what truly matter at this time of year and always!

When thinking about love, we need to remember the greatest act of love: the sacrifice of Jesus for our sins.  It is because of Jesus' gift that our sinful hearts can be cleansed.  Our hearts, stained with scarlet and crimson of sin, can be purified and made as white as snow.  Jesus offers us the greatest valentine of all time, all we have to do is accept it!

Accept Jesus and turn your red stained heart to pure white!

Prayer:
Dear God-

Thank You for the gift of salvation given through the sacrifice of Your Son.  Please turn my crimson-stained heart into a heart that is pure and white.  Through Jesus, my Savior, I pray, amen.
