Where I live we had a wet spring, but during the summer it has been dry. The grass is brown and crunchy and the plants in the garden begin to droop in between watering. Like the psalmist says, the land is parched and waiting for a beneficial rain!
There are times when our souls feel parched. When we feel like we are becoming shriveled, brown, and crunchy. We may feel our spirits drooping under the weight of whatever we are struggling with in our lives. It is during these times that we need to take heart, have faith, and call out to the Lord. We need to spread our hands and, more importantly open our hearts. After we call on God, we need to allow Him into our lives and trust in His power. Only He can quench the thirst in our souls. He will refresh us, revive us, and bring us through our lowest, driest times!
When feeling low and parched, call on God and allow Him to quench your thirst and revive you!
Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for always being with me and for quenching the thirst that is in my soul. Help me to trust in You and Your power in my life. In Jesus I pray, amen.
