"Rejoice always!" -I Thessalonians 5:16 (NASB)
One of my students was recently gathering equipment for her softball game at the end of the school day. When I wished her the best in her game she said, "It doesn't matter, we're going to lose." Our mindset can play a role in the direction that our life takes. We can be defeated before we ever begin our journey or we can choose to rejoice in the opportunities that are ahead of us!
When we are traveling on our spiritual journeys or our physical journeys, we shouldn't be defeated. God is with us. He is ready to guide us and assist us in our growth and learning. When we know that God is with us, we should follow the advice in I Thessalonians 5:16: We should rejoice always! Even when times seem lean and less than our expectations, God has given much to each of us. Rejoice! Always rejoice!
Don't be defeated. Rejoice in what God has given you!

Dear God-
I thank You and praise You for all that I have been given! Please continue to guide me and remind me to rejoice! In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
