It can be difficult to deal with people. Whether strangers, friends, coworkers, or family, some people can "push our buttons" and evoke a response that is often negative. When dealing with these people, we need to think about the advice of Paul and Timothy.
In their letter to the Colossian church, Paul and Timothy reminded the church to speak with grace and respond appropriately to each person. When teaching, teacher can change strategies to meet the needs of each student through "differentiated instruction." In dealing with people, we need to practice "differentiated responding". We need to know how to respond to each person in the best way possible for that individual. How do we know how to differentiate our response? We need to begin with a deep breath, a base of grace, and reliance on prayer to understand the wisdom and guidance of God in directing our words and actions.
Differentiate how you respond based on grace and God's guidance!

Thank You for giving me Your guidance. Help me to remember to take a deep breath and respond in the way that You tell me is best for each person and each situation. Through Jesus I pray, amen.
