My daughter received a scooter for her birthday. With the scooter came knee pads and elbow pads. When she is ready to ride, she grabs her helmet and pads and gets suited up to protect herself. As we head out on our journey through life, we need to be protected, too.
To be protected, we need to put on or cover ourselves with the shield of faith. Faith in the one true, all-powerful God can help us as we move through a world filled with dangers and flaming arrows. Carrying the shield may not always be easy. The world may ridicule our faith and the shield may feel heavy as temptations rise up, but with faith in God we can overcome obstacles and be protected!
Cover yourself with the shield of faith and you can be protected by the all-powerful God!
Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for loving me and for allowing me to have faith in Your power. Help me to hold onto the shield of faith so I can endure the world with Your protection. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
