Sight to Follow

"And Jesus said to him, 'Go; your faith has made you well.' Immediately he regained his sight and began following Him on the road." -Mark 10:52 (NASB)
Seeing in the dark is hard, but sometimes we find ourselves fumbling through the dark.  As we move through the dark, we know we need to move slowly to avoid hurting ourselves.  Once we reach the light switch or flashlight, then things can get back to normal.  Our spiritual lives can be much like walking through the dark in search of the light switch.

In Mark (10:46-52) Bartimaeus is blind and in search of a cure.  He is in need of physical sight.  His faith in Jesus is strong enough that he continues to cry out, even after others try to silence him.  Jesus hears the pleas of Bartimaeus and heals him because of his faith.  In our lives, we don't need to fumble through the dark, blinded by our earthly concerns and desires and searching for the spiritual light in our souls.  We need to call out for the light of Jesus to show us the way.  Jesus will hear us and give us sight in the darkness.  Once we see His light, we need to respond like Bartimaeus and follow Jesus down the road!

Don't fumble through the dark.  Call on Jesus for the light, then follow Him!

Prayer:
Dear God-

Thank You for loving me and for giving me the light of Your Son so that I can know Him and know You better. When I am lost in the dark help me to remember to call for His light and then follow Him.  Through Jesus, the Light, I pray, amen.
