"For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time." -I Timothy 2:5-6
Life has its challenges. Sometimes these challenges occur when we feel uncertain or are in the midst of change in our lives. There has been a lot of change surrounding me in the past year. Changes in family. Changes at church. Recognition at work followed by changes in many aspects of my job beyond my control, including a new boss. With the new boss comes a new leadership style and way of operating that impacts the larger system around me. All of these changes remind me that in the middle of challenge and change there is some certainty: God and Jesus.
No matter how much life changes and challenges us, we have God and our mediator Jesus Christ to help us through. When everything else feels that it is never going to be the same, God and Jesus never change. They are a rock on which we can build our lives. Even if we falter and fail, we can return to God and Jesus for forgiveness, salvation, rejuvenation, and redemption.
Feeling overwhelmed by change? Do not worry! God and Jesus have always been and will always be a simple certainty in uncertain times!
Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for Your love, grace, mercy, and forgiveness. Thank You for being a source of certainty, even as I feel the pressures of change around me. Help me to rely on You as a source of unending love and strength to successfully navigate uncertainty and change. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
