Start Living!

"For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God.  I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.  The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.  I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!" -Galatians 2:19-21 (NIV)
Why did Jesus die on the cross?  He died so that we can live!  We cannot earn eternal life.  We cannot earn God's forgiveness.  We cannot be "good enough" by trying to obey laws.  We can only receive these blessings through belief in and acceptance of God's gift.

When we accept God's forgiveness and the new life that goes with it, we must abandon our old selves.  Our old habits and ways must be crucified and die on the cross with Jesus.  It is not easy to walk away from old influences or old habits that do not fit with living for God, but we must.  God offers His support and guidance to help us.  Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and the Bible are with us to support and strengthen us in living for God.  When we live for God, the rewards will be plentiful!

In our journey, we will not be perfect, but we are forgiven!  We must allow Jesus to live in each of us and through each of us.  Have faith in Jesus, the Son of God.  Be thankful for His sacrifice and the righteousness that we undeservedly gain because of it.

Don't try to be "good enough" and waste God's precious gift of grace, mercy, and forgiveness given through Jesus' sacrifice on the cross.  Allow your old self to be crucified and left for dead, then embrace a new life in Jesus Christ and start living!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for sending Your Son to die for my sins so that I can live through Him.  Allow Jesus and Your Spirit to fill me and live in me.  Help me to live for Your glory!  In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
