There are times when we need to use caution and walk away from people or situations. Sometimes it can be easy to identify the situations and then take the steps to separate ourselves from the situations. Other situations can be either difficult to identify or difficult to take the steps to move away. It can be especially difficult to make the decision to leave a church that seems to be drifting away from God's Word.
We are cautioned or urged to watch for divisions and obstacles that can e placed in our way. Unfortunately we are human and so are those that are in charge of the church on earth. While we hope that those leading our churches are firmly rooted in God's Word, we also need to be knowledgeable about God's teaching so we are not led astray. If we are part of a church that is not following God's Word, we may try to redirect the church back to God. If we are unable to refocus the church on God, then we may need to walk away. When making these decisions, we need to be in constant communication with God so that He can direct our ways and help us to find a church that is preaching His Word!
Don't let others lead you astray. Know God's Word and stick to it!
