-Proverbs 30:5-6 (NASB)
Through their testing, covenant making, pushing the limits, listening, rebelling and covenant breaking, faithful service, prayer and communication with God, our ancestors have found that God is a source of protection. The world can be cruel and harsh, but we can be reassured that God loves us and offers us protection.
Proverbs 30:5-6 reminds that there is also a warning that comes with this protection: we must not add to or change God's word. When we alter God's word, we erode the meaning of His message and damage our own credibility.
God has given us His perfect assurance and protection. God was the beginning and His word has been proven through the tests of time. We can rely on God, but we must be sure to rely on God's perfect word...not our reinvention of God's word!
Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for your tested and perfect word. Please protect me and help me to prosper in furthering Your kingdom with Your word. In Jesus' name, Amen.
