The Right Tools

"'And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.  The second is this, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these." -Mark 12:30-31 (NASB)
Whenever there is a project to do around the house, the first step always seems to be rounding up the right tools.  Whether the tools are on the work bench, in the shed, or somewhere else, the job can't be done right without them.  When we are getting ready to do God's work, we have to have the right tools, too.

Jesus answered the religious leaders of His time when asked about the greatest commandments.  Jesus' response not only tells us the greatest commandments, but also the first tools that we need if we are going to get to work for God.  The first tool is a love for God that involves all of our being - our heart, soul, mind, and strength.  The second tool is a love for our neighbor and ourselves.  With these tools and His Word, we are ready to started working for God!

Take God's Word, your love for Him, and your love for your neighbor and self, then get working for God!

Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for Your love.  Help me to show You how much I love You and to use Your love to work for You here on earth.  Through Jesus I pray, amen.
