Our judgments of people may lead us to love - or not love - them, depending on our perceptions and experiences. It is easy to love those that are "good" or nice to us. It is also, as many of us have experienced, difficult to love those that are not nice or do not appear to be good. However, when we think about God's love, we are fortunate that good and bad do not play a role!
God is always with us, even though we can never be "good enough" on our own. We may think that God couldn't love us because of our sin. However, God does the difficult job of loving us before we are made clean or good! God is loving and wants a relationship with Him, so He is willing to love us, even when we may have difficulty loving ourselves! When building a relationship with God and then with each other, we need to remember that love and forgiveness form the foundation on which we can build. It is love when we feel for each other regardless of our judgments!
This is love...that God is willing to sacrifice His Son for us while we are still sinners!
Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for loving me even though I am a sinner. Help me to become better and to become more loving and less judgmental of those around me. Through Jesus I pray, amen.
