We live in a physical world, a place where we can see, hear, taste, touch, and smell. Our senses keep us informed of what is happening around us. When one of our senses is impaired, our bodies often compensate by heightening a different sense.
As we read the Bible, we are reminded that our world is made up of more than just the physical realm. Besides God's presence, the Holy Spirit and God's angels are at work in our world. These beings protect us, comfort us, and guide us.
In our world there are also the invisible or unseen forces of evil working to keep us away or pry us away from God's loving embrace. As we travel our journey of life, we need to remember to beware of these invisible forces so that we can counteract their influences. God's angels are at war with the devil on our behalf, but we must be alert as well.
When you start to feel yourself slipping away from God, take the time to pray, to trust God, and to strengthen yourself against the invisible forces of evil in our world.
Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for creating a world that we can call home. Help us to be aware of both the visible and invisible forces working around me. Protect me and help me to contribute to Your kingdom. In Jesus' name, Amen.
