Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said that, “People fail to get along because they fear each other; they fear each other because they don't know each other; they don't know each other because they have not communicated with each other.” This is true in the world around us, but it can also be true within the church and within the body of Christ. Different ideas, different perceptions, and different ways of doing things can hinder the overall witness and well-being of individuals and of churches.
In order to best serve God and further His kingdom, we need to remember that we are not called to work alone, but as a body of believers. In order to reach our fullest potential, we need to communicate...with each other AND with God! When communicated, our differences will allow us to grow, branch out, and serve Him better.
We are not alone. We have God and Jesus to guide us, but we also have our brothers and sisters in Christ. We are one body working for His kingdom! None of us can do it all alone, but together we can communicate, love each other, and accomplish great things for God!
Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for accepting me regardless of my past. Please help me to communicate with You and with fellow believers in order to function as one for the glory of Your kingdom. In Jesus' name, Amen.
