When we step out of our bedroom and into the world, what does God require of us? Micah 6:8 is a verse that can guide our actions and our interactions with other people and with God's creation. God requires us to do justice. We should treat those around us with fairness, love, and respect. Even in seemingly small interactions with all of those we meet, we should be respectful and polite. God requires us to love kindness. We should be kind to everyone, even those that challenge us and make it difficult for us to show kindness.
Lastly, Micah 6:8 tells us to walk humbly with our God. Sometimes walking humbly can present the biggest challenge. In society, humility is not always valued and may be perceived as a weakness. Working for God does not mean performing duties in expectation of personal recognition and rewards, but working in a spirit of service for the glory of God. When walking humbly with God, God will take care of us in all of our endeavors.
When you walk out your door, remember to walk as God requires: with justice, kindness, and humility... most importantly walk with God! Invite God to walk with you so that you can routinely prosper and glorify Him!
Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank you for being a just and loving God. Please help me to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with you wherever I go and in whatever I do in order to glorify You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
