"But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you." -Matthew 6:6 (NASB)
Sometimes we know what we are called to do and it is easy for us to follow that calling. Other times we may struggle with knowing exactly what we should do next. When we reach these times of indecision, it is especially important to talk to God in prayer and then to take the time to listen!
When we pray, it should be an intimate conversation with God. We don't need to memorize a long prayer or talk in the most sophisticated way. We shouldn't pray as a way of showing off for others to see. We need to be honest. God already knows what is in our hearts! Once we start the conversation with God, we need also need to be willing to stop talking and be ready to listen. Jesus reminds us to go to our inner room, away from the distractions of the world. It is there, in the quiet moments of conversation with God that we can hear Him and know what comes next!
Find your inner room, pray to God, and be ready to listen for what comes next!

Dear God-
Thank You for the privilege of talking with You. Please hear my prayers and help me to hear Your response. Allow me to know Your will for my life and help me to follow it. Through Jesus I pray, amen.
