We all have those times when we must deal with difficult or ungrateful people. We may try to avoid such encounters, but sometimes we have to deal with them. Whether it's the influence of society or human nature, we sometimes stop in these situations and ask, "What's in it for me?"
Jesus suggests a different attitude. Instead of wondering how to avoid difficult people or asking what is in it for ourselves, we simply need to approach these people with love, expecting nothing in return. Jesus knows that lovingly dealing with ungrateful or evil people is easier for us to say than to practice in our lives. He reminds us that loving others without expecting something in return will lead to greater rewards in Heaven. Even if it is challenging, we should show everyone love and kindness through good deeds!
Don't worry about what's in it for you, just love and do good for everyone, even if others are ungrateful!

Dear God-
Thank You for loving me, even when I am undeserving. Give me the strength to love everyone, even those that are ungrateful or frustrate me. Through Jesus I pray, amen.
