There are times in life when we want things. My daughter is learning that we can't always get what we want. In fact, she sings a song, "You get what you get and you don't get upset!" Sometimes we get upset when we don't get what we want, but that's when we each need to ask ourselves, "Why do you ask?"
When we are wanting, we need to ask. When we ask, we need to be sure that our hearts are in the right place. God will provide for us. God will save us. We need to ask with the right motives, with the right intentions in our hearts. When we have the right intentions, we will get what we want! After God provides for us, we need to "spend" it on worthy endeavors that will glorify God!
Have the right heart and right motives, then ask God!
Prayer:
Dear God-
Thank You for loving me and providing for me. Help me to check my heart and my motives so what I am asking for is worthy of Your attention. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
